Travelers will need a Passport BOOK that is valid through at least February of 2024.
Passport processing is currently taking up to 18 weeks and Image Tours will need copies of the passport by February of 2023, so it will be safest to apply for the passport prior to October 31, 2022.

Be prepared before applying: It is recommended that you visit the U.S. Department of State – Bureau of Consular Affairs passport website prior to applying for or renewing your passport. Here you will find the most current rules, regulations, forms, fees, required documentation, and FAQ. You can complete the form on line and print it prior to visiting the passport office. Quick Reference of What to Bring:
- Complete Passport Application DS-11 (available online). IMPORTANT!: Do NOT sign forms before going to passport office. Passport forms must be signed in person in the presence of passport agent.
- Submit Proof of Citizenship. (Example: certified birth certificate) can not be damaged/altered.
- Provide Proof of Identity (Example: drivers license or social security card and school photo id) you will be required to present the original document.
- Photocopy of ID – you must also provide a copy of the front and back of ID for submission.
- Provide one Passport Photo. One color photo is required and must comply with the regulations governing passport photos. (Plainfield Charter Township offers passport photo service for $10.00).
- Passport Fee (16 and older: $130.00 plus $35 Agent Fee / 15 or under: $100 plus $35 Agent Fee) Plainfield Charter Township will only accept checks or money orders for payment. NO cash or credit card payments will be accepted. Two checks/money orders are required. One payable to the US Department of State ($130 or $100) and the other payable to Plainfield Charter Township. ($35)
- The applicant must be present to apply for a passport
Once received, sign passport and make four black & white copies of the picture/info/signature page. Send two copies to Image Tours. Keep one copy at home. The student carries one copy during the tour.
Additional Notes for Applicants 17 and under: If you are 16 or 17, it is recommended that at least one parent/legal guardian accompany you. If you are younger than 16, all parents/legal guardians must be present at time of application. If one of the parents is unable to be present that parent must complete a Minor Consent Form #DS-3053, which is available at http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english.html
